why did i fail the 1hr glucose test? help!

I took the 1hr test this morn, they said anything above 120mg in your blood was abnormal and i was at 143. Ive seen other drs make the cutoff 140 or 130? Why was mine 120?

I have to fast 12 hours and do the 3 hour test tomorrow. What can i do to pass???

You can't trick the test, especially the three hour. Eat a good, protein rich meal before you begin your fast, stay hydrated. If you have GD, you want to know about it.

You don't do anything to pass. You do exactly what your doctor told you to do. It's not a game. If you don't pass, you take the next test. Don't try to cheat it because gestational diabetes is real and can be deadly of it goes undetected. Don't be stupid.

Dont fake it girl you want to know if u have it so you can treat it cuz it cpuld be harmful for you or the baby if you dont.. Good luck though hopefully you pass and it was a glitch my friend had it its nut that bad

You don't want to try and force a pass if you have GD.
Just go about your day business as usual, take the test, and if you fail then the doctor will go from there.
Making yourself pass when you shouldn't doesn't make it so you don't have GD

Like the other ladies said,  you do not want to rig the 3 hour test.  If you have GDM,  you need to know and treat it.

Having GDM isn't awful.  It's a lifestyle change but completely doable; in fact,  I learned quite a lot about my own body and the GDM diet helped me control weight gain--less baby weight to lose later on!

Eat a balanced meal with a lot of protein the night before.  Bring a snack for yourself for after the 3 hour test.

A lot of women flunk the 1 hour and pass the  2 how with flying colors.  Don't stress over it and good luck!

If it makes you feel any better, even if they had put your cut off at 140 and you got 143 they still would have considered it a fail even though it would have been very minimal! Even one over and they have to make you do a three hour.
Just follow everyone's advice here, they all are completely right! Don't try to rig the 3 hour test, if you do in fact have GD, you need to know as soon as possible and treat it!

Stop having soda, juice, sugar, and carbs. You don't want to trick the test, you want to become healthy for your baby.
