Help. How do I tell my family?

As a heads up pronouns used to represent my partner will change part way throug.

​I started dating this really awesome guy. Part way through our relationship I find out he has gender identity disorder. He has recently decide he is not a male but a female. She has started hormones and the early stages of transitioning. My family already knows her as a male. She dresses and acts completely female and her outward appearance is female. And I'm scared of how they will react to their daughter being with a female, let alone a transgender female. How do I tell them?

Honestly , it's clear you love her enough to stay with her through the whole situation.  You love who you love you can't help that.  I hope your family cab see that and be as accepting as you are.  You sound like an awesome girlfriend!

Tell them what you've told us. She has come to a turning point in her life and you have chosen to stick by her side. While there will be changes, they are still the same personality they've come to know.

Be prepared for questions and have patience when giving them information. They may not understand or accept what you're telling them but hopefully they'll see that they raised a loving, strong and supportive individual.
