Got Pregnant after I got a New Job
My husband and Iwere planning to ttc once I settled into my new job and time it where I could be FMLA for my maternity leave. However, I JUST started my new job and found out that I'm pregnant. By the time the baby is here I will have been at my new job for just under a year which means I don't have FMLA to use for maternity leave (don't know if it's different in other states but here you have to work there for minimum of a year for it to apply). I will have earned PTO by then but I want to try to save that for emergencies, especially once the baby is here. Any advice or "ways around it" to be able to take time off when I give birth before I have been there a year and with using as little PTO as possible? What have you done?
* my work doesn't have any other maternity leave(s) that I'm aware of (I'll double check when I tell my boss I'm pregnant)
