pack and play for sleep

Who all is using the pack and play for sleep? I was going to use rock and play but now kind of torn. Was pack and play comfortable enough for a newborn? Dumb question but pad they include was good enough and not too firm? We have one similar to picture. Any input Is appreciated. Please no bashing for rock and play either, I'm a nurse and docs I've asked ok'Ed it but just wondering on those who used either.
