Did you or will you get the Whooping Cough vaccine?

My doctor here in Hong Kong give the vaccine at 32 weeks. I have never heard of it nor am I sure if it is necessary. What are your thoughts on this?

Yes and yes. Tdap is nessasary for you and your spouse to get. Whooping couch can be fatal to babies.

I'm on the fence about it. I've read so many articles about it not supposed to be given to pregnant women, I don't like the idea of putting stuff in my body unless necessary, but my dr is trying to force me to get it.

In the U.K. U have it at 16 weeks

They've only been giving it (recommending it) to preg women since 2011.. 
1. Not enough time for conclusions
2. No followups in those babies follow up for 1,2,3,4 years development
3. Replaces thimerosal with aluminum, just as toxic
4. Drs need to protect themselves for liability issues here in the US not sure about Hong Kong
5. Go with your instincts and read a bit more about the research and CDC doesn't recommend it

Here is ACTUAL clinical information on the TDap vaccine (I just happened to pull up the Adacel name brand but it's irrelevant).  This isn't information from the internet or an "article". This information is based on actual research and medical recommendations. It is your decision to get a vaccine or not- but clearly it would not be widely used if harmful.  Getting the vaccine during the third trimester helps to pass immunity into your newborn so they are better protected from pertussis (which can cause death in newborns).
