Before I start I would like to say that this story really is about a friend of mine and not myself. So one of my newest friends that I've made (friends about a year-ish) is an alcoholic. I don't know how long she's had the issue but her and her husband both love to drink. She's injured herself many times while being wasted, busting open her eye area by falling and hitting her face on the bed frame, falling down the stairs etc. She used to always say that she just bruised easily but after my husband and I went over there to hang out and drink (before we knew of her problem) but now we've seen her fall down the stairs multiple times etc and the bruises she gets are from that. I want to help her, she has gotten 1 DUI and her husband doesn't have any as far as we know. She had to do classes for substance (alcohol) abuse but she still hasn't gone because she has bad anxiety over the phone. She says she can't call, it freaks her out. I told her I can call for her if she likes but she hasn't said anything yet really about it. I know how it feels to have anxiety but if she doesn't do her classes she will have to go to jail (due to dui). Her and her husband have been having issues off and on and are now talking about having a baby and I'm a little worried for her. I'm scared she may not be able to get it together before getting pregnant and having a baby. So what can I do to help her. I'm more than willing to help and I don't judge her for her addiction, I just feel sad for her that it's the only thing she feels she has. I litreally am heartbroken that she won't get help. I wonder if it's her phone aniexty or she just really doesn't feel ready to get help or possibly both?? It's bad though there are times I text her and she doesn't respond until the afternoon saying "sorry I was still drunk" or she'll still be texting me and she's drunk and her messages make no sense. I want to help her, ladies HELP ME!! Btw sorry if this is a lot or jumbled up.
