Storing open wine bottles?

I have a bottle of wine that still has a good bit in it. Do I just put the cork back in and put it in the fridge? How long will it keep? I feel dumb asking this but I'm a total newbie lol

Depends on if it's white or red. Red wines are usually dry wine and should be stored as you would store an unopened bottle. Whites tend to need to be chilled unless specified as a dry white. If it's a dry white store like you would a red wine. If not a dry white wine then put in the fridge. Same with some sweet red wines they should be placed in the fridge as well.

I like to get wine stoppers for storing leftover wines because I feel like they are more airtight and secure than the cork being put back in but I agree with white in fridge and red is fine on counter.

If it's red wine I would not put in the fridge, but yes cork it
