EBF IS MY BIRTH CONTROL!?!?

Help!!!! 
So I am EBF, and have read that EBF mothers do not experience a period for some time... (6 months pp)

With that being said... do I have a low chance of getting pregnant ?

I don't want to be on traditional methods of birth control, I prefer the rhythm method 
However I have no cycle since I'm EBF hahaa!

I'm looking for EBF MOTHERS OPINIONS AND EXPERIENCES on the topic PLEASE ! I am not looking to become pregnant anytime soon however as stated above I do not prefer to be on BC or use condoms . So please let me know your experiences of EBF ONLY and how it affected your cycle and essentially counted out/lowering the possibility of becoming pregnant THANKS IN ADVANCE!

My lactation nurse said it is very unreliable, if you go 2-3 hours without nursing or pumping your body can start ovulating again. And remember, you WILL ovulate once before your first period. So you aren't safe waiting on your period to start contraception. Be careful!

It doesn't work. Lots of people get pregnant while ebf. You're very fertile after delivery. You ovulate before your period so you can get pregnant without ever knowing your cycle started back up. I'd recommend bc or condoms.

I have no experience with this really because I had my period basically before I was even cleared for sex after my daughter was born, but I can say I've heard WAY too many stories of "This one was a surprise because I still hadn't got my period after my first so I thought I was safe" that I have no confidence in the method and will never rely on it as a form of birth control.

EBF is NOT birth control that is an old myth any dr will tell you that. I'm EBF for 5 months now, we were taking precautions but had a slip and now I'm pregnant again.

I'm on the mini pill which has very low hormone. I'm 4 months pp and haven't ovulated yet but I wouldn't risk it I know a few moms who got pregnant while breast feeding.

I EBF and my son is 8 months old now and I still have no period. Every body is different and there is always a small chance of pregnancy with pretty much every form of contraception. All I can say is be very care when you have sex. EBF is working for me but I still have a stash of pregnancy tests just in case lol

I got my period back at 7 weeks, and I'm ebf. That means I was ovulating around 5 weeks pp, and could have gotten pregnant again right away. You never really know.

I have three kids. I EBF all of them for minimum their first year.

My first child my period came at 8 weeks
My second it came before 12 weeks
My third it came at 4.5 months

You just don't know so it's not worth risking it. Every body is different. I haven't been on birth control in over 7 years. I used condoms or withdrawal after my first two deliveries until my cycles returned. I tied my tubes after my third. Don't risk it

I was using it as birth control and I'll be having babies less than a year apart. If that's not a risk you want to take you need another reliable form. I have an 8 month old and I'm 25 weeks. 😖
