Has anyone ever gotten on birth control pills to help get pregnant? Did it work?

Just wondering. And if so how long did you take them? Because I was taking vitex for 3 months because I saw it helped people get pregnant. And then ever since I stopped taking it I've been bleeding for a month. Never happened before. So I'm thinking about taking some birth control pills to make the bleeding stop and regulate me. Because we are ttc. We've been ttc since july. But this whole month we haven't been able to because of the bleeding. Ugh.
