Hi ladies! I'm on day 2 of being in the hospital. Due to a mystery fever I'm having and can't break (they've tested me for everything to find the source and can't yet) my baby's heart rate is super high as is mine. Because it's been this long they're afraid I'll have to deliver him early so they want to give me a steroids shot called Betamethasone. I've never heard of it or this action and according to them it's to help baby boy boost development of lungs should he be born within the next few days based on what happens with this fever that's triggering our high heart rates. I'm currently 36+5. If anyone has heard of this steroid please share what you know. Good or bad. We rather be safe than sorry if he's born now but steroid is a scary word. Thank you!
