Affording infertility treatments

I recently had my AMH checked by my regular gyno and it's borderline low for my age (1.02 at 37yo). So she wants me to go straight to a fertility clinic to do additional testing and see what my options are. This seriously got to me emotionally yesterday. Thing is, infertility is not covered at all by any insurance in WA state unless you're lucky enough to work for Microsoft. I have no idea how we're going to afford it! I hate the idea of finances getting in the way of having a child. It saddens me beyond belief. Any advice would be appreciated.
As I side note, I know there are 15 states that require some level of infertility coverage. Why on God's Green Earth is birth control and abortions always covered by insurance in every state (woman's right to choose, right?) but NOT infertility treatment?! Why is my choice to have a child not protected?! It seems really unbalanced! I'm going to write to my state's insurance Commissioner about this issue. This NEEDS to be changed. I'd  love to hear how others feel about this point.
EDIT: abortions aren't "ALWAYS" covered but are typically covered at some level in 48 states.  Same with birth control with greater coverage. It still makes my point of the lack of balance between insurance services provided for contraception (greater and widespread/easily affordable by most people) and aided conception (limited availability of coverage mostly to states requiring it and is extremely expensive).
