Is it just me?! I had my first cervical finger check by the doctor...

And it hurt so bad!! It felt like something sharp was going in. I had such a hard time she couldn't even finish checking me 😩

Please spare the "well you're in for a big surprise" I get it, a baby is coming out of there. I'm asking if anyone else has a hard time getting their cervical checked?

I've read that you can refuse them.. And that it really doesn't help to predict much because you can start dilating weeks before you go into labor. I'm 32 weeks... If it hurts me that much, I may refuse!

I had one OB that was EXTREMELY uncomfortable when checking me with my last!  She was female too which made me think she would be less forceful.  All of the other doctors in my practice were more tactful/gentle though.  I was so glad she was not on call when I went into labor!

I went into labor at 36weeks. I had the pleasure of having a huge rough woman who obviously didnt give a crap check me with her fingers and i wanted to cry and yell at that bitxh!!! I get it, u have done it before but give me a break!!!  After wards she told me i was dilating she gave me clothes to change into, when i went to the bathroom i noticed i was bleeding...alot. she told me not to worry, itll subside!!!

Yeah... I never had any digital penetration in any of my OB exams.

It depends on the person doing it. I've had a few awful ones but most were ok and one of the OBs I was seeing with #1, was amazing felt like nothing. Also helps when you are relaxed. I hate the pp smears more. Or when they check your ovaries in your annuals 😒

Yes it was uncomfortable but I don't remember it being extremely awful. But durring labor I actually didn't mind getting checked at all although most people hate it but in my case the nurse that was checking me had extremely cold hands and it helped ease the soreness in the muscles.

Honestly I thought everything they did to me during my pregnancy was uncomfortable. At least when you go into labor an epidural is an option. I was gonna go natural but changed my mind cause it was so painful but it made everything a lot better
