what does it feel like when an ovarian cyst bursts?

I am wondering if it may have happened to me earlier. My stomach has never been in so much pain in my life. And TMI, but I didn't have to poop when I tried and my stomach isn't gassy so I don't think either of those were it. It was a very sharp pain in the middle of my stomach with tenderness near my ovaries, mainly the left one. It was hard to stand up straight. I felt very strongly like I was going to throw up from the pain, but didn't. The severity of the pain has gone down but I'm still sore and still feeling a bit quesy, and for some reason the lower portion of my ribcage area is sore. Any ideas if this was possible a cyst?
