Vbac?? After CSec and Hip Replacement

So with my son I had to have a c section, 1. Because we thought he was gonna be 10 lbs and 2. Because I had a total hip replacement at 18.. and we were afraid it would affect my hip and pop it out. He weighed 7 lbs 😒 soo this time we are having a girl and I want to try a vbac, I am super nervous and scared, about my hip, a long labor all that good stuff lol. Anyone have any advice? Heard of anyone with a similar situation?? It's hard to find someone thats had a hip replacement at a young age and then had a baby!!! Thanks ladies!

I had a hip replacement 7 years ago at 26.  My son was a cs 4 years ago also based on estimated size and concerns over the hip.  I had my hip done at a specialty hospital and I do not like the ortho surgeons at my local hospital where I deliver.  I'm now pregnant with my 2nd and not sure what to do.  Leaning towards a cs as I'm worried if I did have problems with the hip, it would be too much on top of two kids and recovery.  But I also think I would potentially be fine.  My surgeon said I'd be OK and I've had a few friends with THR go on to have perfectly healthy vaginal births.  Interested to hear any updates you have!

I don't know anything about hip replacements and birthing, but I can tell you that I birthed vaginally and no one held my legs. I'm 5'3" and I have really short legs, when I tried to have my heels in the stirrups my knees were hardly bent. So they set up this U shaped bar over my bed as I was pushing and I braced my feet against that and pulled on a towel wrapped around the bar with my hands. 
It will be really important for you to have the best nurse available at the hospital, she will likely have experience in finding the right positions and set-ups for you. Best of luck.

I'm kinda in the same situation, but this is my first and I had a hip replacement 2 years ago. My O/B is sending me to a prenatal specialist to get their opinion on me delivering vs c-section. My surgeon said it's more about the people holding your hip while pushing, make sure they know not to over extend it. Did you first pregnancy effect your hip at all?
