At what point should i tell my employer?

I literally just found out yesterday. I'm not even 4w. I work in an office and only started working there 6mths ago. I LOVE my job, and I'm so afraid of telling anyone, as I already have 3 kids. All the women I work with, although awesome, are all menopausal and sort of jaded lol. I am in Canada and get a year mat leave, but I'm just starting to build my career.

I was thinking around 15w?

I'm very secretive about my pregnancies so I didn't plan on telling them I just will wait until I get bigger and they notice. Don't feel like it should be broadcasted I don't really like the attention it brings

I'm going to at least wait until I'm in my 2nd trimester....which is in Feb. It's winter so I can get away with wearing big clothes. But I doubt I'll be showing before Feb tho.

I'm in Canada so we are similar in laws. I work for a relatively small, family insurance brokerage. I have a pretty low key office job. As of January 1, I'll have 2 weeks vacation and 10 paid sick days, so lots of time for appointments and such. I know they won't be horrible, but the judgment is what I'm not looking forward too. They just paid for me to get licensed as well, so I hope they don't feel like I screwed them. I mean I still have lots of time.

I have literally just been through this I found out 2 weeks ago I was pregnant so then I was only 5 weeks or so I hadn't even passed my 6 month probation!!! So I was nervous and kept worrying so I just told them get it over and done with obviously anything can still happen but I have a hard physical job lifting heavy objects so I also kinda had to make them aware of it so I didn't damage the baby.... they were fine really lovely about it !!! Also in England it is classed as discrimination if they fire you for being pregnant so you could sue ... not that you want to I didn't want to go down that route luckily I won't have to either best of luck but don't worry so much these things happen it's part of life !! Xxxxx

I would suggest waiting until atleast 15 weeks just to be in the clear 😉

😂 they knew the day after I did. I work in a hospital and need to make sure that I don't handle certain medications. I'm telling the families at thanksgiving (US thanksgiving. Canada's is in October right?) with your situation I would wait till you feel comfortable, but in my situation is was pertinent that I told them ASAP to avoid cytotoxic materials.

I work in a salon with like only 8 people. I sent them all a picture of my test because it was known I had been trying for over a year. 😂😅 but first pregnancy I didn't say anything really ever. I just one day got fat and couldn't hide it.

Wait as long as you can...I'm gonna wait until I start showing or after my performance review in January. I'm due July 3 and if I can keep it that long I will wear baggy clothes until February. I don't want them treating me different!
