I'm confused about ultrasounds...so my doctor is going to do one when I am "5 weeks"...but wouldn't that make the ultrasound image only be "3 weeks"??? How does this work :/

This is my 5 week 5 day bundle of cells.  So what your seeing on yours is totally normal for how far along you are.

All "weeks" will be calculated from the first day of your last period. So while you may have conceived 3 weeks ago your pregnancy is considered closer to 5 weeks along. Make sense? They may do a dating ultrasound between 8-13 weeks to more accurately date your pregnancy.

So this image is 5 weeks? Does that mean that the "baby" itself is actually only 3 weeks in utero? I need help haha
