red cheeks/forehead rash?

Question

Daughter woke up with what looks like a rash on her cheeks. Not exactly sure what it is. I put some aquafor on it just to see.

Her face is just red everywhere!

Anyone else have this happen?

Could be the drool and colder weather together. Mine gets red chins occasionally and I feel like it's when she drools on the bed spot she sleeps in, or wears a bib for too long. Irritation.

has she been seen for 5ths disease... its a virus generally not dangerous but you should check with ped if it hasnt gone away

Could she be teething? It could be an allergy or eczema but, my son's cheeks get like this when he has a tooth coming in because of the drool and general irritation. Its called a teething rash. I use Aveeno Eczema cream to soothe the skin (the Wal-Mart generic. Just buy the regular stuff, no need for the special baby lotion). Then I put petroleum jelly on over that to help create a barrier between drool and his skin. It usually keeps it managed until the tooth pops through and it goes away.

My son get the same on his cheeks they start off red, then gets little bumps...he's constantly itching it. I look him to the pediatric doctors and they said it was eczema...in the first stages! So I bought him Cetaphil Eczema Calming Lotion and it's definitely helping with the bumps which are now getting dry & flakey and also mostly all of the redness is gone!
