HELP!!!!

i seriously need help. so i'm in highschool and all the girls are planning on who their asking. it's really stupid. they are calin  "dibs" so anyway this one guy who everyone knew i was gonna ask, this girl decided she was going to "pre ask him" and he said yeah i was kinda hoping that she (me) was going to ask me but if she doesn't then we can go as friends... so i don't know what to do because i hve wanted to ask him all along
