has anyone got a raised tattoo?

My tattoo is fully healed I've had it for a year or so now. But tonight it's raised and it's become itchy and has been burning.

Is this normal? Has anyone else had this?

What should I do? Should I visit my tattooist?

It's the worst tattoo I've ever had!! And I'm so glad it's only small. It was done in a professional tattoo shop.

I have to other that are perfectly fine and better from a different person

Help :( could it be ink posoning ?

You know sometimes you get a randomly itchy body part? Well I find that if that happens on top of a tattoo then it'll get raised and itchy. They go down though. Remember that tattoos are kinda just scars, so most of the time you'll just about feel them.

Pretty sure the color of the ink plays no role as even mine with color raise. I've Google this a few times & actually had to ask a tattoo artist. Fact is, it can be many different things. From the weather, to your skin having touched something causing irritation, stress, body temperature, lol pretty much anything. As long as you didn't have any irritation prior to the healing you can rule out being allergic to the ink.

it's because black is dominant.. and it tries to come out of the skin.. I have a few that do it..

It's normal. That's just how it scarred that how most of my tattoos look.

Mine do that if I happen to get any type of cleaner on them, they just get raised and itchy until I wash the area with soap and water.

My oldest tattoos is from four years ago and every summer it raises. Most likely weather related.

One of mine did the same thing. Not sure why but I found using an unscented lotion on it when it got itchy would soothe it. It hasn't bothered me for quite some time now though (like maybe a year) and it's 5 years old now
