Natural Birth or C-Section? Which one you prefer?

In my country you can decide the way you want to give birth, all my family members (except my grandma) have given birth by c-section; it is something really "popular" since natural birth is avoided because of the pain.

I'm curious since I haven't talk to someone that have gave birth ... Experience?? Which way you prefer?

Not sure the pain is a reason for a csection, I'm sure everyone you ask about their csection will say it's plenty painful & will take weeks/months/ & possibly years to fully heal!!!!

By natural do you mean vaginal and no epidural or just vaginal with the option of epidural if needed?

Both my boys were born vaginally with epidural.  My first son I had a "light" epidural to where I felt my contractions and everything but it knocked the edge off.  It was still painful during the "ring of fire" my second birth I had such a strong epidural I couldn't even feel the "urge to push". Either way it was beautiful. They can lay the baby on your chest immediately and you do skin to skin. You cry and hold your baby while your partner gets to join in. I personally would avoid a c-section at all cost.

I'm trying for a vaginal birth (though I may need pain meds so not exactly what they call 'natural birth') because the recovery time is so much quicker for most people. I'll have a c-section if medically necessary but it definitely wouldn't be my first choice

I wish I can have a natural birth, however I have to have a c section. I had one with my first born and have to have another on, my doctor just don't want to risk anything. On a positive note the c section saved my son's life.

I didn't have a choice with my son. I had an emergency c section. All I want for my next  baby is safely delivered & healthy. The rest doesn't matter...

I had a c section the first time but not by choice. She stopped at 5 1/2 cm dilated, so it was stressing her out. i had planned on a natural birth, she had other plans guess she didn't want a cone head lol! so this time I hope to have a natural birth.

You're not avoiding pain by having a c section. It's major abdominal surgery and carries a higher risk of death and infection. Taking care of a newborn while recovering from surgery is no walk in the park and you absolutely need help. I'll be doing everything I can to avoid a second c section.

My son went breech at 36 weeks so I had to have a c section. I wanted a vaginal birth SO BAD, but I'm just thrilled we have a happy healthy baby boy. I hope to have a VBAC if we are blessed with another child.

There is definitely more risk to c-sections. Blood loss, blood clots, and also the newborn having breathing problems after birth. You also have a longer recovery. Id only have a c-section is necessary.

From what I understand of it, the recovery is a lot longer, more difficult and more painful with a c-section than if you deliver naturally. There are pain relief methods to help with the pain so you don't have to go FULL natural. I just think that when my baby comes I would rather have less pain and recovery time while I'm also trying to get to know and care for my baby. It'll be stressful enough at times, I'd rather not add to that with a c-section recovery.
