does the birth control shot make your period last longer

I got the bc shot and my period has lasted 2 weeks. My mom keeps saying it's the shot it's the shot but it has been 2 WEEKS. I can't do this it's so annoying.  I'm sure something's wrong but my mom is refusing to take me to the doctor. Is there anyway I can stop it at home???

The depo shot made me spot . Didn't really have a full on period.  I ended up stopping depo because I was tired of all the ridiculous side effects

The depo shot can either make you have no period or can make you have a continuous period.  It takes a few months for your body to get use to it. Your mom is right. There is nothing wrong. 
My advice : wait it out a bit and if it continues, talk about a different birth control. I personally have tried every birth control option and the shot is definitely my favorite but everyone's body is different and it might just jot be the right fit for you.
