Birth control and insurance

Hello there well I've been on the same birth control now for about 9 years which no matter what way you look at it is too long for this certain type of birth control. I get the depo shot and I've gotten it since I was 16 years old. Next year I'll be 24. I'm 23 right now. I wanted to switch birth control methods only to find out that my insurance doesn't cover it. So I am stuck on the depo, that I've only ever been off of for about 8 months consecutively last year. And the method of birth control I wanted to switch to was the Nexplanon implant. Apparently Medicare and my Humana drug plan don't cover it...anyone else run into this problem?
