Birth story

Finally it's my turn to tell my birth story! I went to a routine midwife appointment on fri 18th November (40+4) where I was told I had protein in my urine and my blood pressure was high, I was sent straight to triage where I was monitored for a few hours and then sent home as my blood pressure went down and so did the protein. Before I left I had a stretch and sweep done where they told me I was already 1-2 dialated. I was also told to make an appointment at my doctors surgery for the following Monday the 21st to have my bp and protein checked again. I went to my appointment, now 41weeks pregnant and my blood pressure was 180/113 and plus 2 protein in my urine. Again I was sent to triage where it was decided as they couldn't get my bp down and my protein became +3 they were going to go again and induce me. I was allowed home to get my bags and then went back in. I ended up having my waters broken at 5.10pm as I was already 3cm. At 5.20pm I had my first contraction and they literally came every 3 minutes from then! I asked for some gas and air and managed on that for an hour. After that everything is a blur! Things literally went from bad to I can't cope any more in a split second. I have only small snippets of memories of what happened. I remember them telling me I was 6cm dialated, I remember them saying the baby was getting distressed and they needed to put a little probe on her head and I remember them telling me my bp was dangerously high and I was being taken for an emergency Caesarean. I got to the theatre at 7.30pm and as they were prepping to put me completely out they said it was too late and I needed to start pushing as I was 10 cm dialated (still on just gas and air with no idea what was going on!). 3 pushes and my baby girl came shooting out. Baby Evelyn came into the world 21st November weighing 7lb 8oz @ 7.40pm, 2 and a half hours after I had my waters broken. I am so completely in love with her it's crazy. We are both doing well but have to stay in hospital 5 days due to me having preeclampsia.
