I am having trouble sharing the news of my engagement. My mom does not particularly care for my fiance and my dad has not yet met him even though we've been dating for almost a year now. I want to tell my parents first but given that they live in a different city and probably wont receive the news well, Im thinking it might take me a month or two to tell them.

That said, ive been hiding my engagement ring from my friends and coworkers and its upsetting my fiance. Should i go ahead and tell my siblings and friends and coworkers? Or wait until Ive told my parents and continue hiding my ring?
