When did you call the doctor?!

I'm 39 weeks 3 days and I keep having strong Braxton hicks contractions. Last night they were 10 minutes apart and went away after 2 hours.. I woke up around 3:30 this morning with cramping and backache. Today I've had strong BH and loose stool. This is my second pregnancy and with my first I mainly had cramps the day I went in the hospital. Just wondering when you ladies called the doctor or went into labor? If you all had any of these symptoms before? I'm getting so anxious!!

I've had a lot of that (all of it) and if my contractions stop at any point then i don't even think about calling. You have to have either strong contractions or back contractions for your body to change in a positive way. Unless your water breaks... I am 39 wks 6 days and still cooking :(

It sounds like you are getting close!! I had my weekly appt the same day i went into labor. It started at 4a and my appt was at 11a i was 39w4d. I stayed in contact with her all day and night. I had a doula and she was the one that said its time to go to the hospital. I arrived at 10cm and had her 15mins after arrival. Cut it a little close. Hehehe

I had contractions consistently every night for week before I went into labor with my daughter. The contractions would start at 10-11 and last until about 1 or 2 am . The night I actually went into labor I didn't believe it lol finally decided to go to the hospital at 7am but I was still convinced they were going to send me home. Thankfully I was dilated to a 5 and they kept me :) she was born three hours later :)   Everybody is different though. So you just have to pay attention to your body. I decided to go to the hospital when I was on the phone with my mom and couldn't talk through a contraction.

Friday at around 1-2 am I woke with a jolt in my stomach and strong cramping started! It was around 10 minutes apart but so painful. They started getting closer together so I called and they told me to wait. I showered and just walked around to see if it would stop. It didn't and kept getting worse. I kept going to the bathroom with a very loose stool. Lost my mucus plug.. Finally went to the hospital as they told me to come in. When I got there at 3 am they said I was 6 cm. the nurse thought I was handling the pain well so I didn't get the epidural right away. A few hours later I was 7-8 and in so much pain. So I want the epi right then!! Took forever it seemed like and then I had the urge to push!! I was only 9 cm so I couldn't! They gave me the epidural.. It helped with the pain but not the urge to push. Finally around 7:30 am I think the doctor came in to break my water so I could push! I start pushing and the doctor walks out and has to do another delivery so they tell me to stop pushing!! I was so mad!! (But the other person was going natural and I knew how hard it was to stop yourself from pushing) so as I lay there wanting to push I have to wait! Finally the doctor comes back in around 8:40 I push and my sweet little girl is born at 9:03 am

It was definitely my body preparing!! Went into labor last night around 2 am and had her at 9 am this morning! Not a long labor!

I was 40+2 when I went into labor. Was having painless contractions on and off for a week, never getting too regular or stronger. It was around 7:30pm after shopping at Walmart I started getting pain with my contractions and had several bowel movements around that time too. Lost my mucus plug(no blood though). They were 2-3 mins apart, tried calling but no answer but went to l&d anyways. Got there around 8:50. Was dilated 6cm already. Figured I would want an epi and had to wait for fluids to get in me and bloodwork to come back. They almost didn't give to me in time, was 8cm when they did & an hour later at 12:55am he was born. When they broke my water I dilated to 10cm so had they broke it before I most likely would've done it natural. Pushed him out in 15 minutes just about or 3 counts of 10 and the last count they didn't make it to 10.

I called and went in when I I had to stop doing what I was doing when I was having a contraction. My contractions were irregular and crazy, so they weren't typical. I just stopped timing and called the doc. I had the baby 11 minutes after arriving at the hospital. When you have to stop to get through a contraction, give them a call.
