depressed?

Anyone feel overwhelmed or just plain depressed? Hoping this will soon pass..I have a 7 year old and just had my son November 10th.. I feel sad every night ( only at night) during the day I am fine but I feel like I'm always breastfeeding and can't ever get anything done.

I feel the same way. I have a 3 week old. The nights are the worst. I feel lonely and anxious (not to mention really tired). You're not alone. I keep telling myself this isn't permanent. Make sure to reach out to friends with kids to get some insight and support. Good luck.

At the hospital, they told my wife and I that, should the baby blues set in, just think back to the moment when you first met your baby. Remember how elated and happy you were then, and hopefully that will help you through this rough patch. Good luck!

I think I have a bad case of the baby blues as well. I wake up in a pretty good mood. Towards the afternoon I cry and cry and cry. I feel so horrible that I'm not enjoying the special time with my baby as I should be

The depression passed, thank god! I was worried there! It gets easier day by day

I got it during the evening also, big weepy boo-hoo tears. It lasted about a week. Feeling better now but definitely more emotional and soft than I used to be!

I'm the same way! The nights are the worst. I used to be a night owl but now I dread the evening. It's a very normal feeling though. It's called the Baby Blues

feeling pretty similar too, i wanted to exclusively breastfeed but have been having to supplement since day 3 or 4 because my little one wasn't getting enough and got really jaundiced so that made it harder for her to stay awake at the breast, seeing her go through all the treatment plus having to go to formula when i really would rather not has me pretty depressed feeling, I'm still attempting to breastfeed, and pumping along with supplementing but pumping and only getting a little bit makes me feel terrible even though i try to make myself feel better by telling myself it's because i feed her before pumping though deep down i really don't think i produce enough, ive been trying everything and haven't had much success.. night time makes it worse since i offer her breast but she's still not satisfied so i have to take the time to make her bottles, as long as she's fed but it has been hard, i just want to cry

Similar situation here. I have a 7 year old also and just had another baby on the 9th. I was feeling very overwhelmed at first and even cried some days. It's very hard work. But in the last few days things have definitely gotten better. Good luck to you!

I feel the same way. I'm a first time mom of a 2 week old and completely overwhelmed by how difficult this is! My baby feeds almost constantly during the day and I have so much anxiety at night, just praying she's not up and fussing immediately after being put down. I cry at least a few times a day. She also won't sleep on flat surfaces and I'm super stressed about letting her sleep in her rock n play. Have you seen Happiest Baby on the Block? I found it to be comforting and helpful.
