taking plan b while ovulating!?!! help!!

I had sex the week after my period and I believe I was ovulating because the kind of discharge I had. It was unprotected and I took plan b the next day. Is the pill still effective even when I'm ovulating??

Plan B keeps the egg from implanting in the uterine wall. So IF you were in fact ovulating and the egg was fertilized, plan B should prevent it from implanting. Normally it takes around a week( sometimes a bit less) for implantation to occur because the fertilized egg has to travel from the Fallopian tube to the uterus. If implantation occurs before you take plan B, then the pill won't be effective.

So to answer your question, yes- you should 100% take plan B if you were ovulating and you want to prevent  a pregnancy. Sex while ovulating is what leads to Pregnancy in the first place. Sounds like you took the pill fairly timely, so my best guess is that you are in the clear. But if you miss your period, def take a test ASAP.

If you've already ovulated plan B won't do anything for you. It prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation.
