elective cesarean

Tara • Wife. Mom to be to 3.
My first baby weighed 6.11 normal non complicated hospital delivery. My second baby weighed 9.9 had shoulder dystocia with some meconium in lungs. Overall the second delivery wasn't exactly traumatic or anything I think everything was handled right so maybe I didn't really realize the significance of it. My daughter didn't have any lifelong effects from it except for physical therapy for over a year to help repair damaged muscles in the neck and shoulder. It did effect her eating, crawling, walking, and just overall balance slightly but was resolved in a year time. I'm now expecting my third baby and my DR said she has to reccomend a cesarean delivery because its 30% more likely to happen again in future deliveries. She said at the end regardless of what she reccomends it is still my decision. I asked if we could base it off of baby's weight and she said yes but near the end it does get harder to accurately determine weight but that their is a big difference between 6lbs and 9lbs. It's sounding like the safest way would be to have a scheduled csection But if I have another 6lb baby I feel like it would be unnecessary. I also couldn't imagine going in selfishly try to have a vaginal delivery and something similar happen but this time it ending up worse then how it did for my daughter. I'm just looking for opinions or similar stories as nobody in my family or friends has any similar experience.
