Pet Issues- Long Post, Sorry.

Kat

Ok, not sure anyone will be able to help, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

We got our kitten at the beginning of June. For the first few weeks she was all sweet and cuddly and loved being with me and taking naps, but right after I got pregnant, even before we found out, she became a bit more aggressive towards me. It's gotten steadily worse as I've progressed in my pregnancy. I try to give her the same amount of attention as I did before, but every time I try to pet her or play with her toys, she attacks my hands and latches on with her claws and bites me, hard. It's gotten to the point where I can't hardly leave the room without her latching onto my legs or feet and it's stressing me out.

The thing is, she'll do it to my husband but not to the extent she does me, and nothing at all to my mil. I'm worried she won't calm down before Gray is born and we'll have to get rid of her which we would hate because despite the fact I think she's part demon or goblin, we love her like a kid. We plan on getting another kitten from a friend, and we know this cat is sweet and the exact opposite of ours. I'm hoping having a sister kitty will help redirect her attention away from us.

My question is, has anyone else noticed their pets change behavior like this? If so, is there anything you've done that helped? We've tried squirting her with water, positive reinforcement, and putting her in the bathroom for a few minutes when she misbehaves and nothing has helped long term. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!
