The Itch from Hell - please help me!
To start with, I've been to several doctors and OB/GYNS about this over the past 5 years, and not a single one has been able to accurately diagnose me, with most saying flat out that they don't even have an idea. I am posting on here with the hopes someone can share their own experience or someone will have a suggestion that finally works. Posting anonymously because it's embarassing.
The skin above my vagina (mons pubis) itches incessantly. There are two small bumps that appeared 5 years ago and have remained the same size/shape/color/location since, and I have been told they're not warts or anything like that. Sometimes they are what starts the itching. I also have a round, slightly raised, quarter-sized patch of red, flaky skin that comes and goes (looks a little bit like eczema), and it always itches very badly. The combination of these cause me to itch not only above my vagina, but now, kind of all around the outside of my vagina. It's bad all the time, but even worse at night, and the absolute worst when I sweat down there at night. I am clean, no STDs (no crabs or anything like that!), no yeast, shower daily or more, use mild and natural soap with no perfumes, natural laundry detergent, wear cotton underwear, and have tried natural lotion because it feels like it's dry, but that makes it worse the same way sweat does. Sometimes I trim my hair there because when I don't, it tickles my skin and starts the insane itching. I don't shave or wax because I can't afford to irritate the skin.
Does ANYONE have ANY suggestions? I've scoured the Internet to no avail. It's driving me nuts, literally. I can't sleep at night, and I feel embarrassed in front of my husband because sometimes I accidentally start scratching it without realizing it. The last move by my current OB/GYN was to prescribe steroid cream just to see if it would work, but I got pregnant immediately after that and cannot use them.
Please, please help if you have aaaaannnnyy ideas. I would be so appreciative!
