My Birth Story👼🏼💗- induced at 41 weeks!

Vee

This is my second pregnancy my son is almost 10 years old and I had him at 38 weeks, I was in labor for 30 hours! 24 hours of it unmediated since I wanted to labour naturally but I was completely exhausted and I opted to have an epidural. So this time around I was completely open to the epidural!

At 40 weeks my doctor stripped my membranes but that didn't work. So I was scheduled for induction on 11/23.

I was scared of having to be induced because of the risks of having to need a c section.

I was given misoprosol and it worked perfectly.  I was given the pill at 12 noon and they monitored the baby for 2 hours. They told me go home and go about your business! By 6 pm I was already having contractions every 10 minutes. By 9 pm I was 3 cm dialed, and was told to walk for a couple hours. Well by 11:30 my contractions were 2-3 mins apart lasting 1 minute and I was 6 cm dialed and 80% effaced, I had lost my mucus plug.

Those contractions were really painful so I asked for an epidural since I wanted to have a pleasant experience.  My water broke at around 2 am and by 3:50 am i had an urge to push even though i was numb. I was able to push my baby out and I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl at 4:17 am on 11/24. She weighed 7.9 lbs 20 inches long.
