What's the best kind of bag for hospital?

Question

Figured we would pack the baby's stuff in the diaper bag and bring a separate bag for everything else. Should we pack a rolling suitcase or just a duffle bag with zipper compartments? What did you use?

We had a small duffle bag and that was plenty of room for us. I would suggest bringing an extra empty bag for all the stuff the hospital sends you home with.

I'm starting to feel like I packed too much 😂
I have baby's diaper bag full of stuff "after baby" stuff but we will have a 3 hours drive home so I have changes of clothes just in case, several diapers, breast pads and always pads and just all that kind of stuff. And a shoulder bag of "labor stuff" for me 2 sets of comfy going home cloths in case baby vomited on one, got my iPad, a heat pad, my comfy cardigan sweater to wear over top of the hospital robe as I get cold often, that sort of thing. And then my husband has a duffle bag of snacks and drinks and changes of clothes and entertainment for him.

With getting induced and a 3 hours ride back home I wanted to be sure we didn't leave anything we needed behind. And we will be at the hospital for longer than normal BECAUSE we are getting induced.

I'm bringing a small suitcase for my husband and I. Baby girl has her diaper bag packed. I think it all depends on you. If you are a first time mom (FTM) you tend to bring things that you may or may not use, but, pack what you feel is best. I'm a FTM and reading some of these comments I feel like I didn't pack enough lol but I've heard you always leave the hospital with more than you arrived with. I'm using my diaper bag which is basically a cute duffle bag. I have a big comfy tshirt for myself, a change of underwear, (I'm getting induced and am just going to wear sweatpants), a coming home outfit for baby, a few diapers, wipes, & baby blanket. & when the time comes im going to throw in my phone charger,
Toothbrush, contact case & solution, etc

I used a bag slightly bigger than a backpack and my honey used a plastic bag from Walmart. Lol keep it very minimal so you don't have to take so much back home with you.

Pack as little as possible. You'll be bring it and much more home plus a baby. Think of the gifts, extra free stuff at the hospital and all that comes back home. I packed a going home outfit, natural soap and lotion and blanket for baby in my bag and that was it.
