LO cries with other people??

Question

So my LO is 4 months and she HATES when other people hold her. Family, friends etc. she seems to only want her father or I and I was wondering why that is, I mean I know little kids of course are gonna want their mom or dad, but I thought she was still to young to even understand the difference??

My daughter started showing signs of separation anxiety early too, at 3-4 months. She is still particular about who holds her.

My 2nd child was like this, but he wouldn't even go to his dad! He would cry himself to sleep and wake up when I got home from whatever I was doing! My husband is a great guy, he was just a momma's boy from the start. 
My 1st child and my grandmother are very close and my 2nd wouldn't go to her! 
I think this lasted about a year. He's 3 and good now.

At 4 months definitely not too young. It's normal. Baby knows your voice and smell very well. It's not surprising that other people aren't preferred. A 4 month old also doesn't have object permanence so when baby doesn't see you, she doesn't know if you even still exist or will ever return.

Same for me!!! It was almost frustrating at first especially cuz it hurt my Mom and Sis feelings and I enjoyed a lil break! She grew out of it though. Now at 5 months she is much better. If she is sleepy or hungry it's only Mommy or Daddy but I can handle that :)

Babies smell you. They know you. They know your voice as well. So, they definitely know when a stranger comes over. 
I typically hold my LO next to someone while asking them to begin talking to him, allowing him to place voice and visual recognition. He still had the comfort of mom or dad though. It's a gentle way to introduce to new people.
