Who did your first ultrasound?

I have my first ultrasound this coming Wednesday and when I'll be 6 weeks 4 days. My doctor will not be the one doing it, in fact this will be in a different location right before I meet with my doctor. Is this normal? Do they tell you right away what they see and if everything is fine?  I'm really hoping to see/hear the heartbeat!!

I go to ultrasound first and then meet with doctor after in a different department. I go tomorrow for first appointment.

My Doctor does not do the ultrasound either. I have to go to the ultrasound clinic and then have a follow up with my Doctor. The sonographer told us (and showed us) that all was good. My Doctor said she actually doesn't even see the ultrasound, just gets a report from the clinic. Which seems odd to me. I'm in Canada if that makes a difference :)

Before my doctor got the ultrasound in the office, they sent their patients to the hospital for ultrasounds, it's normal for that to happen, some people get ultrasounds first to see how far they are and then scheduled for a doctor visit, but then some go in for the doctor visit and then ultrasound it all depends on your doctor honestly.
