Okay ladies just wanting some opinions. Do you guys wake up your newborns at night to feed them or let them tell you when they are hungry?

I had to wake her up to feed her until she surpassed her birthweight. After that, never wake a sleeping baby.

In the first month we were told not to let the baby go more than about 4-5 hours without eating to prevent dehydration.

After that it was less crucial.

The first couple weeks yes... Based on recommendation of our pediatrician. After her 2 week appointment, she far surpassed her birth weight and were given the ok to let her sleep longer at night (as long as she ate enough during the day and had sufficient diaper counts). She still woke up every couple hours at night for a few more weeks.

My  baby is a month old and has never slept for more than 2 or 3 hours straight. That's if I'm lucky. I'd love to have to wake him to feed! That would mean we got some sleep

I have twins so if one wakes up to eat and the other hasn't I'll wake the other in up to eat just so I don't have to wake up fifteen minutes later and feed the other. But that's only at night during the day they tell me when they're ready to eat.

I had to wake my daughter to feed for the first 2 weeks -- she would have slept all day and night if I hadn't. Once she reached her birth weight again, I stopped waking her.

The first few weeks yes but she normally woke up now she's 12 weeks and no I let her sleep

My 3 month old still only sleeps for 3-4 hours during the night. If he were to sleep longer I would let him sleep until he woke me up.

Noooo. You would only wake them if there is some concern for their weight and growth. Xx
