does the nexplanon affect depression?

I got the nexplanon insterted a week ago and since around that time MY already existing depression has seemed to get worse and I don't know if it's a side affect of it or if it's just other stuff going on causing it. Has anyone had trouble with it like this???

Yes. If you already have depression or anxiety nexplanon(any birth control really) can make it worse. I had mine taken out after a yr n a half bc i it was making my life unbearable. . .

Depression and mood swings are possible side effects of hormonal BC. If you think the BC is making it worse you may want to consult your doctor.

It can. For me, it hasn't caused severe mood issues ( I think, I'm always kind of mean and upset ), but I've heard of some women just going way down with their depression on it

Ive suffered from depression before and just got my implant about 2 weeks ago I have my moments of it coming back sometimes it's also a side effect of it
