Pills, IUD or implant?

Question

I'm 24. Haven't used any birth control besides condoms before and I just can't decide between the 3. I don't want to choose without being 100% sure and everyone is so mixed about it it's difficult to decide! I was leaning toward the implant but a lot of reviews scare me away- but then the others aren't much better. Any thoughts?

I have the implant and I love it. Take internet reviews with a grain of salt. Lots of people only write a review about these kinds of things if they have a problem with it. Also keep in mind that any birth control has a 3 month average period where your body is adjusting to the new hormone levels in your system. Any review written in this 3 month period is likely inaccurate about what you will experience long term. I got the implant because it is safer, less invasive, and there are less possible complications than the IUD. I think the most important thing to keep in mind about IUDs are that they can cause damage to the uterus and if its severe enough, can make you permanently infertile. This may or may not be a concern for you. The implant has a slightly lower failure rate, and a failure would be less dangerous. The IUD can cause an ectopic pregnancy which is incredibly dangerous, and often fatal if it goes unnoticed. 
When I got the implant I was on my period. It was the 2nd/3rd day of my period. My period stopped immediately after insertion of the implant. I started bleeding again a week later. This continued pretty much every day the next 3 months. It was very light bleeding, that never required more than a thin liner or a small wad of toilet paper. I have now had my implant 9 months, and after the 3 month adjustment period I have not had any bleeding, or periods, and only occasional cramping. I have had no serious side effects. The only time I even notice its there is after a upper arm workout, the area around it gets a little tender. I hope this information helps you make your own informed decision. I'm 18 and IUD is the best thing I've ever done for myself. It's so great I recommend it to all my friends

I reccomend the implant I've had it . The first few months kind of suck but then it will be your best friend. I work for a clinic and the iud always gives some kind of problems to people

I myself had the Iud and it caused me nothing but trouble! I got horrible cystic acne along my jaw and have the scars to boot! It really didn't agree with me. But everyone is different, my mom is on her second iud and she loves it

I hate my implant. The beginning and the end of the 3 year period is the worst

I'd prefer the iud. I never had any problems with that form of birth control. My periods went away about a month after insertion. I'm currently on the nexplanon and I have spotting  two weeks out of the month.

For me personally I would choose the IUD mainly because I can never remember to take pills on time and I got pregnant on the implant and it also caused me to gain 25lbs. Birth control works differently for everyone though its best to talk with your doctor about your lifestyle so you can come up with the best solution for you.

I'd suggest the implant because that's currently what I have, it only last three years and it's not even noticeable on my arm. I always forget I even have it lol.
