I HATE formula!!!!

Kari

My daughter is 7.5 months old. I have exclusively pumped since she was 5 days old. I had to stop pumping last week due my nipple cracking 2 months ago and progressively getting worse. It got way too painful and stressful and I believe it started getting infected.

I have frozen milk I am mixing with formula now to transition her and it is not going well. We have tried 4 formulas now...1 she refused, 1 she kept sitting up after each bottle and another was the liquid supplement bottles we only have 8 of. We r using similac infant not which says it's close to breastmilk.

The main issue I have is that we have gone 7 months with a routine of having a bottle be good for up to 6 hours. My daughter is a sporadic drinker. Sometimes she will drink an entire 4oz bottle but usually she only drinks 1-2 oz at a time, specially at night. This is very frustrating with formula and causes a lot of either wasteful bottles or unhappy moments for baby while I'm making her more.

The last 2 nights we have had no sleep. Normally I get a breastmilk bottle out and can use it for her whole 6 hour sleep stretch, whenever she gets fussy she drinks 1-2 oz and gets back to sleep, but we can't do that with formula so she gets cranky and washers all the way up. She also send like she's hungry more often.

This is a very frustrating transition for both of us. If there anyone else who has gone thru this? How long did it take for u and ur LO to fully transition and be comfortable with it all?
