cries when drinking bottle???

My LO is exclusively formula fed and lately has been crying when I try to feed him. He'll wake up from a nap, cry, I try to calm him and it doesn't work so I figure he's hungry..I give him a bottle he drinks for less than a minute and then he'll start crying and pushing the bottle out and chew on the nipple and won't drink anymore..I try to burp him and try again. And it's the same thing..he'll start crying with the bottle still in his mouth..I eventually give up and try to find other ways to calm him.. what could it be? Is he not hungry? Still sleepy? I don't know.. 😩😩😩😩
