Do you nurse your baby to sleep?

Question

Do you have to feed your baby to get them to sleep? Pacifier?

My son likes to nurse to sleep but when I put him down then he crys? 
This goes on for a while at night before he actually goes to sleep for the night.

I nurse my 14 week old to sleep but I do the  pantley pull-off (google it) once he gets sleepy/falls asleep at the breast but he's still doing little sucks. It's basically where you put your littlefinger  into their mouth to break the seal and quickly press their mouth closed - either from under the chin or on the chin - this stops the sucking. If they root for the breast when you do it, then put them back on, but repeat again in 10-60 seconds when the sucking slows again. It usually only now takes 1-2 attempts to successfully remove from his mouth. 
As for putting him down, I usually hold him for 5-10 mins then put him down. But your child is probably noticing 2 things- the change in temperature (warm mummy to cold crib) and the pressure difference (held tight by mummy to big wide open crib). I would suggest swaddling or wrapping him in a blanket before you start feeding so he's all snug and secure, and he doesn't notice the move to the crib as much. Also make the crib more snug- I've rolled up towels and put them on each side of his mattress -UNDER the sheet- so it's a nice secure small area that you're putting him into when you move him. My husband figured out a trick for when the baby starts waking up again when trying to put the baby down...we put him down and quickly hold our hands around his waist for a few seconds. He normally opens his eyes as if trying to wake up but the second he feels my hands around his waist/chest it puts him back to sleep. Works every time...even for naps! Good luck! :)

At bedtime, my daughter goes to sleep in her crib on her own with a pacifier. I put her in, tuck a blanket under her sides as a loose "swaddle," read her a story, give kisses, and turn on her lullaby bear which plays an instrumental version of "Lullaby and Goodnight." Then I turn out the light and lay my hand on her belly until she relaxes and stops squirming (usually about 30 seconds). Then she is out for the night.

If she wakes up in the middle of the night, we go in and give her pacifier back to her and that usually works. If, however, she continuously wakes up multiple times within an hour, I will nurse her again and at that point we nurse to sleep. When she falls asleep, I put her back in her crib and again lay my hand on her belly until she settles. Works like a charm.

We do bathtime, then give him a 5 oz bottle before bed and he's usually out by the end of it. When I put him down, he will sometimes cry (it's gotten less frequent the older he's gotten). At the direction of our pediatrician we started letting him cry it out. We basically do 20 min cycles of crying then go in change/comfort him. 90% of the time, he doesn't make it through the first cycle and once he's out he sleeps 10-12 hours every. Single. Night. Letting him cry it out is controversial, but our pediatrician strongly recommended us moving him into his own room and encouraging him to sleep through the night. Moving him into his room and letting him cry a bit has hands down been the best decision we've made!

I nurse to sleep, but he doesn't wake up when I put him down at night. He does wake up from naps when I move him after nursing, but I just keep trying. Sorry I don't have any better advice.

I nurse to sleep every night my lonis 16 weeks old. We haven't used a pacifier on her at all. Once she falls asleep nursing st night a wait about ten minutes until I move her. We cosleep though and she sleeps on her side. If I put her down by herself she wakes up. 
Sometimes during the day she falls asleep in her swing but that's after I let her whine for about 10 minutes.

It's part of our routine for bedtime but she mostly unlatches and falls asleep. Usually i feed her, sing her a few songs and then regardless of if she's asleep or not I give her to my husband who rocks with her and then lays her down when she's asleep. For her big nap, she eats and usually falls asleep right away.
