No period after BC stopped

Took birth control for over 10 years and whenever I'd stop taking it for a few days is get my period right away. However, last year I switched to a higher estrogen BC and when I stopped taking it in January this year my period hAs been MIA except for one week in March. I had a little spotting in April but that's it. I'm going to start taking ovulation tests regularly but no pregnancy yet. Not sure if this is normal or not and how long it should take for my period to come back.  Has anyone else had this?
