travel with 8-month old

Has anyone gone out of the country or planning on it with an 8- month old? How do you deal with their solid foods? We might be going to a beach resort in Mexico in February and our baby will be 8 months old then. We are starting solids at 6 months! In not sure if it will be too hard to travel with him and prepare his food or pack it on the plane etc. any advice? TIA
