Husband doesn't want sexy time

I'm about 32 weeks pregnant and my husband said he doesn't want to have sex until well after our daughter is born (like the 6 weeks pp that's usually suggested). It kinda hurt my feelings because I'm not sure why he feels this way. I understand not doing it right after she's born for medical reasons, but 8 weeks before too?? Naturally I assume the worst and think it's because I'm big and stretched and he probably doesn't find me attractive. He swears it's not my appearance though. Anyone else been through this or currently going through this? How do you approach the conversation with your SO?
