Scared of what this ultrasound will show

So I started having pains on the right side pelvic area and every now and then I'll feel it during sex. That along with my other symptoms ( pregnancy symptoms with no BFP just a really heavy period) led me to my gyn. So his exam was inconclusive so he scheduled me for a sonogram. I'm 5-6 days from my next period and once again have all the pregnancy symptoms. I'm afraid that there might not be a baby in there.....just something wrong. Sigh my appt with the sonographer is on the 20th so I guess the wait beings.
