Did you move in with your significant other before or after marriage?

My boyfriend's mother doesn't agree on us living together before marriage. She says she regrets moving in with her husband before marriage. It would just be so practical to move in now since we go to the same college and want to go through it all together. I don't want to rush to get married because right now we can't afford a nice wedding and we are knee deep in school and working.

In my personal opinion, I wouldn't marry anyone I haven't lived with. Living with someone can cause big changes in your relationship, my boyfriend and I are doing a test run of the whole living together thing by being roommates at our on campus apartment. We were together for nearly a year and a half before moving in together but his mom still freaked out about it. She's over it now. I would just do whatever feels right for you.

Moving in together changes a lot of things. Marriage honestly doesn't change anything in your relationship if you've lived together. It's a critically important step. But you should do it because you're ready, not just for convenience. And find a way to make it a special move forward that you both acknowledge and celebrate together.

You definitely wanna see if you can stand living with someone before u make that ultimate decision... not all parents advice u should take simply because it's your life not theirs ... just because she regrets doing something won't mean U will ,,. Or u might take the advice n regret that u didn't do what u wanted
