tough diagnosis
So last week my husband and I found out that our baby has an AV canal defect and will have to have surgery when it's born. They did a blood test for Down syndrome because this is often linked, but for some reason I was convinced it didn't have it.
Well, I was wrong. We found out yesterday that it does have Dowb syndrome. It's been a really tough day for us. I'm a special education teacher and know how great my students are, but we want our child to have the fewest struggles in life as they can. We are going to be okay and have a great support system, but it's still a big shock and hard news to take.
