When I started dating my (new) SO 8 months ago, we both understood that we wanted different things down the road. He's older and already has a son and I definitely want to have marriage & a child in the future (within a few years). I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to leave before the feelings get too deep and I sorta said something to our mutual friend about how having to date when we break up will suck. And I guess she told him and he was conflicted about it. He said that he doesn't want to let me go and pretty much hinted that he'd be open to the future I want. He's under the assumption I don't know he said that and he hasn't said anything to me. I'm nervous to say anything to him because I don't want him to feel forced. But I also would like some kind of commitment from him if he wants to be together long term.
