Breastfeeding Momma's

My daughter came 3 weeks early I had her 11/22 and she was due 12/14, but we're exclusively breastfeeding. We went to a lactation consultant this AM because at the initial latch it's that pitch that makes me go ouch! Then a couple seconds later the pain goes away. The consultant told me that she noticed baby girl had a callus on her top lip which made me feel a little bummed. She told me that I could put some cream on it to help soften it up. Any other mom's have that going on or can share some tips to help that go away?
