IVF with PGS testing
My husband and I are going through our first IVF. He is 32, I am 28, and the IVF is due to severe male factor infertility. I had my egg retrieval a week ago. We were elated because they got 38 eggs! The next morning they called and told us 14 of them fertilized, I was a little surprised that so many didn't make it, but 14! Still a great number! So on day 6, I hear from them again only to learn that only 4 embryos made it. It definitely wasn't the phone call I was expecting, as I thought for sure we'd have more. They were biopsied and sent off for PGS testing and it gives the 2 week wait a whole new meaning (we'll get the results on the 20th). I am so very grateful for the 4 embryos that I have, just worried that none of them will make it, considering how many dropped off during the previous check-points. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this normal when it's due to male factor infertility?
Thanks Ladies! 💜
