Formula covered by insurance??

So my daughter has milk allergy (also peanut) and has to drink nutramigen or alimentum formula. Does anyone know or has it covered by their insurance? I have blue cross blue shield.

A little bit better actually. Hers was never awful. More on her arms/legs/torso. It's all so frustrating. We are now on some Beechnut Organic Rice Cereal twice daily in her larger bottles & that fills her well without any reactions.

I tried to have my daughters alimentum formula covered by Blue Cross and they denied me. They said she meets the criteria for reflux , but she hasn't had poor enough weight gain for them to pay for it. So shitty

I have a baby with the same issues. On the same formula. Alimentum Ready To Feed. No powders. I have blue cross, OMNIA gold. It was NOT covered. They won't cover any formula unless baby needs it via a stomach tube. That's what I was told.

I've heard of this but not sure which insurances do. WIC will cover it with a prescription from your doc. You'll probably be short a few cans every month, but it's better than none! They have pretty high income guidelines that increase with dependants. We're a family of 6 and we can make like 65k. We barely make the cut off, but with me not working, it helps. If I was working, the cost of formula (400+) AND daycare for 2 (1200+ a month), what I would be keeping in my pocket is not even worth the time away from my babies.

Yes.  Insurance week covet and even deliver.  Talk to doctor who had to contact insurance is part of dme

Bcbs of Texas only covers amino acid and elemental formulas (i.e: neocate and puramino)... my daughter was just rx neocate and bcbs covered a good amount of the cost since it can't be bought on the shelfs.
